• Grandparents Nathan and Margaret Merrill founded the Vermont Antiques Dealers Association and established Ethan Allen Antique Shop in late 1930s.
• Father Duane Merrill started Merrill's Auction Gallery in 1967.
• Todd is considered an authority on contemporary and modern furniture/design, authoring the book Modern Americana: Studio Furniture from High Craft to High Glam. Todd is the president of Todd Merrill Antiques/20th Century in New York City.
• Ethan Merrill is a professional appraiser and auctioneer for the family auction house, conducting hundreds of auctions and appraisals. (And he also pitched for the Boston Red Sox in the 1990s.)
