Yes, I am well over the age requirements for AARP. But no, that doesn't mean I'm too old for McDonald's Happy Meal toys and promotions. There are lots of negatives associated with McDonald's and Happy Meal toys, but they do such a great job, especially with Disney/Pixar pieces that it's hard to ignore them. The price is right for parents on a budget, the kids get something to play with, and collectors have an inexpensive item to collect.
The day the Cars promotion started and I was sure to go to McDonald's for lunch, in fact I told them I would buy as many Happy Meals as they had different cars, but wanted two of the Lightning McQueens. I wound up with six Happy Meals, including the two versions of Lightning McQueen. It's great having a three year old grandson to enjoy these toys with!
There are eight cars with numerous variations, most of the differences are slight -- such as the eyes looking different ways. The biggest difference were the Ramones and Lightning McQueen cars.
