Selling Online: Picture Taking Basics

By Barbara Crews, About.com

A tired cliche, but especially true when trying to sell your antiques or collectibles online.

Good pictures are a must when trying to sell an item on the Internet. And now that it's so easy and inexpensive to take pictures, there is no excuse not to have several images of each item on your auctions or web site.

If you're buying a digital camera just for online sales pictures, you won't need the most expensive and highest resolution camera. A simple point and shoot digital camera will work fine. The magic is all in the staging and lighting.
