Beadwork Tapestry Santa
Updated July 26, 2004
As a long-time Santa collector, I am always looking for something unusual. This beaded tapestry not only is different, it's beautiful and might inspire me to even try my hand at beading.

This, one-of-a-kind, original design Belsnickle was created by Susan Grubert. The tapestry was woven with imported Japanese glass seed beads and edges with Swarovski crystal accents and gold-plated beads.

Santa's festive red costume is accented in cobalt blue, against a sky blue background dotted with snowflakes. The piece is approximately 5" wide and 10" tall and was created on a Mirrix loom..

Grubert has been doing beadwork for over four years. Although she does some jewelry, she favors loom work and enjoys creating original one-of-a-kind designs. Her designs have included mermaids, fairies and butterflies, but after creating this Belsnickle style Santa, she's now inspired to do more Christmas work.

Grubert primarily sells by word of mouth and does commissioned pieces. She says "I get inspired by things and designs I enjoy looking at".
