Another very popular items was this skittles (ninepin bowling) molded papier-mâché camel set
on cast-iron wheels, the camel’s back serving as the carrier for nine papier-mâché Arab-figure skittles. Dating to around 1900 and extraordinarily rare, the set had been estimated at $10,000-15,000. Twenty-seven bids were received when a
collector on the phone finally won the item at $33,000*.
