Night Treats Santa

By Barbara Crews, About.com Guide

This unusual jar reminds me more of a Wizard than a Santa. The jar is marked Susan Brack, is lightweight and is 11.5" high. It is very well made -- the glaze on the jar is excellent, one of the best finished red jars I've ever seen. Price was around $40. retail. I believe the jar was originally issued in 2000.

Update:
I received an email from Susan Brack designer of the Night Treats Santa.

From Susan Brack: I was surfing the net last night and discovered my cookie jar on your site. My name is Susan Brack and I am the designer of the holiday cookie jar you call the Night Treats Santa. I had to smile when I read your comment, "Is it a Santa or a Wizard?" It is a Santa, but I am also known for my folkart and fantasy figures. I guess some fantasy must have influenced this Santa.

I designed the cookie jar for Gallerie ll a couple of years ago. They produced three lines of collectibles based on several of my original Christmas illustrations. There were lots of ornaments, 3-D figures, cookie jar, advent calendar, candy containers, dolls, etc. The cookie jar is from the Reindeer Power Collection. The original illustration has the same title. Some of the items were produced in limited numbers and I am not sure, but I think the cookie jar is not being produced anymore. I was just recently featured in the Better Homes & Gardens hardbound Santa Claus Collection book (volume III). They did a nice article about me and show some of my work along with some of Gallerie II Santas I designed. Sorry, but the cookie jar is not included.
