Originally designed and created by W.L. Bacher in 1928, at the height of the Roaring 20’s---the era of the speakeasy, the Shimmy, and the flapper girl. These 2-ounce conical vessels, draped with round-bottomed, nude female forms, were intentionally designed so that they could not be put down until their contents were drained at which point they were flipped upside down or bottoms up, inspiring the now famous "Bottoms Up" Toast!
Note:
(Only the cream-colored one on the left shows Patent 77725 along the bottom edge under the figure's feet. This would make it a 'McKee' original. All of the other four were produced by the Summit Art Glass Co. using the original McKee mold with the patent number under the feet removed.)
