A recent article in the local newspaper bemoaned the fact that garage sale permits have fallen by about 25% this year and the city was losing revenues. One of the factors mentioned was eBay, the reporter mentioned it was thought folks were deciding to sell directly online instead of having a garage sale.
Although we still have our annual garage sale, I'd gotten a little burned at going to them. Too much junk and thrift store rejects seemed to be all I could find. So after thinking about the article, I decided to do a little more hands-on research and spend a few weekends going to garage sales again.
My question was -- are there still good buys at Garage Sales or is it true that most folks are selling stuff online?
You be the judge, overall I was pretty darn happy with my finds and just might have to take up the hobby again.
