In 1931, The Coca-Cola company commissioned Haddon Sundblom to develop advertising images using Santa Claus. For the next 35 years he painted portraits of Santa that helped to create the modern image of Santa. This particular piece is from a 1954 advertising cutout, "Good taste for all," used to promote Coca-Cola during the holidays.
The ornament contains an LED spotlighting system to illuminate the figurine inside of a 90 mm hand blown glass ball. The system is powered by a standard mini-light string found on most Christmas trees by removing a bulb from this string and plugging in the ornaments' pigtail into the string.
"This revolutionary spotlighting system illuminates your Christmas tree in a spectacular way that highlights the unique magic of The Coca-Cola Santa Claus."
