Upper Deck Football

Call it just another day at the office for Upper Deck.

I like to think of it as the signature football set on the market today – Upper Deck football.

As with previous years, 2006 Upper Deck football is jam-packed with rookie cards featuring high-quality photographs of the biggest Draft Picks, including Reggie Bush, Jay Cutler and Matt Leinart which are part of the “Star Rookies” subset.

This year, there are short-printed rookie cards inserted at a ratio of 1:4 packs.

But, Upper Deck took the rookie card program one step further by inserting at least one base rookie card per pack. And, with a little luck, you might have a few packs per box where you pull two rookie cards!

The base card design is just that – basic. But, as mentioned previously, the photography is most certainly not basic – it’s as high-end as you can get on a trading card.

Also, as an added bonus, every hobby box is guaranteed to contain at least two memorabilia cards with at least one featuring a rookie Draft Pick. There are also autographed-memorabilia rookie cards, which are extremely difficult to pull, but should be a handsome reward for the lucky you-know-what who pulls one.

Most everyone who is anyone in the NFL is represented in this set. From Brett Favre to Carson Palmer – they’re all in here.

Unopened packs of Upper Deck football retail for about $2.99 per pack.
