2005 Upper Deck Sweet Spot Classics Baseball

From

Feb 27 2005
I was always a big fan of the “classics,” from television shows such as “Gun Smoke” and “Gilligan’s Island” right on down to more modern etchings like “Coca-Cola Classic.” But, after feverishly ripping through 12 sealed hobby packs of 2005 Upper Deck Sweet Spot Classics baseball, I am now hooked on some of the most memorable “Classics” of them all.

Thanks to Upper Deck, Sweet Spot Classics brings the perfect mix of some of the biggest legends in baseball history encapsulated within one of the freshest card designs to date. Add in a parallel base set serial-numbered to 50, plus various different levels of certified autographs seeded an average of one per box and you got quite a contender on your hands.

We were lucky enough to score a sealed hobby box from our friend Don Williams at Upper Deck and came away with a couple of zingers including a certified autograph of George Brett and a “Red and Blue” certified autograph parallel of Dwight Evans serial-numbered to just 40 copies.

In addition to the ‘graphs, we pulled base cards of all-time greats like Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams and Harmon Killebrew, just to name a few.

With sealed hobby boxes fetching close to $100, you had better act fast. This product has all the makings of a long-standing hobby “classic.”
