Upper Deck is Back in the Saddle with SP Prospects

From

Jan 25 2005
From the depths of 40-man roster’s everywhere comes 2004 SP Prospects – an extensive collection of exclusive and low serial-numbered rookie cards.

After a quick look at the checklist, I am convinced that Upper Deck hit a home run with this product. In addition to the certified rookie autographs, there are dual and triple-autographs serial-numbered as low as one.

Some of the key rookies that have autographs in this set include Blake DeWitt, Cory Dunlap, Kyle Waldrop, Josh Fields, Gaby Hernandez, Mitch Einertson and Matt Tuiasosopo.

On top of the plethora of certified “graphs,” there are game-used memorabilia cards from amateurs that played on the 2004 USA Olympic team including John Mayberry Jr. and Troy Tulowitzki.

What is truly great about 2004 Upper Deck SP Prospects is the price point – roughly $80 per box. Look for five certified autographs and two game-used memorablia cards on average per sealed hobby box.

While SP Prospects may have been the last of the 2004 draft products released, it certainly is not the least of the draft products and has to be at or near the top of the rookie heap.
