Upper Deck SPx Baseball

From Mike EIsner, for About.com

Oct 31 2006
During a year in which so many great baseball products have been released, Upper Deck SPx baseball really stands out from the crowd.

Here’s a few reasons why:
Two serial-numbered certified autograph "Rookie Cards" per pack; Game-used jersey and patch cards from key players who participated in this past Springs World Baseball Classic; and, Exquisite redemption cards.

Plain and simple, Upper Deck SPx offers what few other brands do – serious value at a very affordable price point. For $6.99 per pack, the average collector has a chance to pull cut signatures, serious game-used patch cards, and autographed cards from many of the game’s biggest names.

What is really driving this product, though, is the Exquisite redemption card program, which has literally set the hobby on fire. If you are lucky enough to pull one of these, you can easily get $125 for it, and that’s before you redeem it online at www.upperdeck.com, and hope for the best.

Some of the better outcomes include cut signatures from Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb, as well as autographed patch cards from some of the game’s most prominent rookies including Stephen Drew and Jered Weaver, just to name a few.

In addition to the redemptions, the certified autograph "Rookie Card" crop includes the first base autograph cards for Cole Hamels, Matt Cain, Jeremy Hermida and Alay Soler, as well as autographed "Rookie Cards" of Jered Weaver, Stephen Drew, Dan Uggla, and Hong-Chih Kuo.

We absolutely loved SPx baseball. From the game-used memorabilia cards to the two certified "Rookie Card" autographs per box, the value this product offers is outstanding.

Good luck with yours.
