Yes, the new Topps Triple Threads brings some serious heat at a pretty hefty price tag but whos counting? (My wife usually does, but luckily for me my boxes were free.)
For starters, the packaging is probably the best Ive seen since the old Topps Finest of the mid-1990s where there was an actual card on the front of the box. (Theres nothing like a vintage picture of Mickey Mantle to get the juices flowing before ripping through a box of baseball cards.)
Then youve got the meat of the order two packs of cards per box, in which you are guaranteed a triple-relic serial-numbered to 18 or less and an autographed double or triple relic.
In other words each pack contains two money cards, which makes ripping this product very enticing and potentially highly rewarding.
And also new for this product is the "White Whale" score, which is a 1 of 1 auto/relic or multi-relic seeded at an average of one per case. Some examples of a "White Whale" include a signature-cut Mickey Mantle card, triple autographed relic printing plates, and autographed triple-relics of such stars as Felix Hernandez, Alex Rodriguez, Albert Pujols and Barry Bonds, just to name a few.
Topps Triple Threads is as high-end as you can get. Its packed with innovative relic cards, key autographed cards and, literally, a thrill a minute.
Plus, Triple Threads boasts the first relic cards of Josh Gibson issued by Topps, which have proved to be super-hot commodities on eBay and at card shows across the nation.
If youve got approximately $180-200 to spend on some baseball cards, Topps Triple Threads is definitely the way to go.
Its the Bentley of trading cards, for certain and theres certainly nothing wrong with that!
