Upper Deck SP Signature Basketball

From Mike Eisner, for About.com

Mar 28 2006
What’s not to like about 2005-05 Upper Deck SP Signature basketball?

Surely, it can’t be the “designer” tin that the three cards package is safely hidden in?

And, surely, it can’t be the guaranteed autographed card per tin on average?

Honestly, the only thing that we considered a drawback was the fact that opening a tin didn’t take long enough. I liken the opening of an SP Signature tin to that of eating a chocolate ice cream cone at Carvel – the thrill is quick and then its gone and it leaves you wanting more but you know that you can’t keep eating the ice cream because you’ll get fat and … well…you catch my drift.

We had as much fun as we could have had ripping through one tin of SP Signature basketball. For starters we scored a serial-numbered base rookie card of Rashad McCants. We also hit a nice dual autograph depicting Portland TrailBlazers rookies Jarret Jack and Martell Webster serial #’d to just 25 copies.

Upper Deck SP Signature boasts some of the nicest multi-signature cards around including dual and triple sigs and Rookie INKcredible signatures, which are some of the nicest looking rookie pieces to date.

Sealed tins of 2005-06 SP Signature basketball should run you approximately $55 per. And just think, even the tin is collectible!
