Chock full of autographed rookie cards from the likes of Chris Paul, Charlie Villanueva, Deron Williams and Marvin Williams, coupled with John Hancocks from the likes of old favorites like Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, its clear to see why this set continues to impress year after year.
This year, however, Upper Deck pushed the envelope a tad bit further than they had in previous years by including autographed patch rookie cards as the first 100 of the autograph rookie card print run. Needless to say, these cards have been scorching hot on the secondary market and are more beautiful in hand than ever could be portrayed on a computer screen.
In addition to the rookie cards signatures, staple sub-sets like the autographed Sign of the Times and the limited and extra limited parallels are back in abundance. Thank you for that, Upper Deck.
If you are into collecting the base set, there are 90 cards in total, and the set boasts a Michael Jordan card, in addition to the regulars like LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Shaq, Allen Iverson and Tim Duncan.
As has been the case since this products inception back in 1998-99, Upper Deck SP Authentic usually contains some of the key rookie cards for almost every great NBA player who has had a rookie card in the last eight years.
We especially like this years product, considering the price point ($4.99 per pack) and the strong rookie class from this season.
Our box contained two autographs: Sign of the Times Johan Petro serial #d to 100; and, Joey Graham Rookie Authentics signature serial #d to 1,499. Good luck with yours!
