If you want to retire on your proceeds, start sticking twenty dollar bills inside the cookie jars now. That way it will be a sure thing that you'll get money out of the jars in the years to come. Although some people will see a profit from selling their jars, many won't unless jars were bought very wisely and are exactly what folks will be looking for in the years to come.

Who knows what pottery company will catch people's fancy or suddenly become hot? No one. Just take a look at real life auction prices and feel the heartbreak those owners must have had, especially those that bought a decade ago when jars were "hot".

Buy and collect jars because you love them, realize that you will get some money back when selling them, and might even wind up with a nice profit, but don't count on the big bucks.

We're not all Andy Warhol and people won't be clamoring to buy our collections because of who we are.
