Not Deciphering Auction Descriptions

Last but not least is the problem of not thoroughly reading auction descriptions to see what sellers say and what sellers leave out. Read between the lines!

What is the seller actually telling you? Will they refund your money if you're not happy?

What actual words are they using? For instance -- "This is a vintage McCoy cookie jar" vs "This jar is marked McCoy and has crazing that so many old jars have". The first statement tells you it's McCoy, the second one doesn't say that. They are telling you what is on the bottom of the (probably) fake McCoy jar. They are not lying, but just because it is marked as such, doesn't make it a McCoy.
