Guide Review - Judith Miller's Collectible Price Guide 2007

Judith Miller and DK Publishing always put out a great product. The photographs are the best in the industry, with several features not normally found in typical price guides.
  • A lengthy and informative Collectors' Notes section is at the beginning of each chapter. This section, many times, will give the history, collecting tips and what to look for in that particular category.
  • Another interesting aspect of her books is the A Closer Look section. Each category will "pick apart" an item, giving you that closer look with an explanation of what to look for in that particular category and/or item.
  • Collectibles Price Guide 2007's What's Hot section highlights items such as: costume jewelry, postwar and contemporary studio ceramics, vintage eyewear, twentieth century glass and smoking items.
The best part of all is the feeling that Miller understands the thinking, thoughts and inner feelings of the collector, especially why we are so varied in what we love and collect. She says "I realize that a personal connection is one of the key aspects of starting a collection and helps to explain why the collectibles field is so broad".
