Using Collectibles to make a Halloween Wreath

Gathering Supplies

When you have a house full of collectibles, it's only natural to want to use them in decorating for the holidays. This year I decided to make a set of "candy" Halloween wreaths for the front doors. The inspiration was the glass candy taffy ornaments from Susan Cherry Designs and a beaded garland that reminded me of candy pieces.

Supplies Used and Needed for Halloween Wreath:

  • grapevine wreath
  • glass candy ornaments
  • Pez dispensers
  • assorted lollipops
  • plastic candy/cake picks and skeletons
  • reproduction tin pumpkin man
  • spray paint
  • glue gun
  • florist wire
  • garlands
First step is to paint the grapevine wreath with glossy black spray paint. Spray both sides of the wreath with several coats of paint. It took a full large can of spray paint to cover two 20" wreaths.
To be safe, always use spray paint outside!

After the wreath is completely dry, use a length of florist wire to make a hanger on the back of the wreath.
