Be a smart buyer when looking at the vintage/antique items, be sure that you're getting what you pay for. Do your research! As seen in the decorations pictured, many new Halloween items are made to look old.
Department 56 always comes through with a few must-haves and I suspect a few of them will become very collectible in the future.
One of my favorite new items are the large jack o'lanterns. On the fireplace mantle I used a "cat" jack o'lantern filled with fall foliage, next to a black cat cookie jar and an Enesco ghost belsnickel.
