Upper Deck Ice Trading Cards

It’s not real ice – I can tell you that from experience.

Rather, it’s Ice, the new hockey trading card release from Upper Deck that’s sure to send shivers up and down your spine – especially if you’re lucky enough to pull an autographed rookie card of Sidney Crosby!

Jam-packed into this 20 ct. box of hockey heaven is what may be the hobby’s first autographed acetate patch rookie card…WHEW!

(Now take a deep breath and continue)

Yes, the new Upper Deck Ice is loaded with serial-numebred rookie cards, autographs, game-jerseys and autographed acetate game-used patch rookie cards.

While we didn’t pull an autographed patch, we did manage to score a goal with an ultra-thick five-color game-used patch of Rick Nash serial-numbered to 50, which we were very pleased with.

Our box also contained five serial-numbered acetate rookie cards, though none of them are worth speaking about right now. Check back with me in three years and we might have something, though.

Also contained within our box were two game-jersey cards including a sweet Sidney Crosby!

The card design reminds me of the old Ovation baseball series of the late 1990s, which was one of my favorites. The photography is crisp and the base card checklist is a virtual who’s who of the NHL from Mario Lemieux to Martin Brodeur.

What’s also nice about this release is that you find a pack in just about any retail outlet that carries trading cards like Target, Modells, Sports Authority and K-Mart, as well as your local hobby shop.

And, this product is ultra-affordable at $4.99 SRP per pack, whether hobby or retail.

If you are a hockey trading card fan, this is a nice product to open and enjoy – and for the price, it’s extremely hard to beat.
