Joy to the World Collectibles

The Vision:

Lisa Kelechava had a vision, or perhaps it was a dream, as she said the idea came to her in the middle of the night.
The idea was to create beautiful glass ornaments and with Joy to the World she has certainly succeeded in living her dream.

Lisa does all the design work, along with all the research that goes into making an ornament. The research includes incorporating current popular colors to appeal to the younger collectors.

Made in Poland:

All of Joy to The World's ornaments are made by a factory in Poland that has grown along with the ornament company. The relationship between a designer and a factory is always an interesting one, as they both have to have the same dreams and visions. Kelechava discovered the perfect fit, finding a factory that is "crazy enough" to try making the most detailed molds and making them work.

Celebrity Charity Ornaments:

The original Joy to the World line was the Celebrity Charity ornaments and today it's the only glass line that benefits different charities.

Each ornament is individually endorsed by a celebrity. For instance, Betty White has her name on quite a few pieces that benefit the Morris Animal Foundation. Other pieces include Michael Bolton's "Play by the Book"; A.J. Foyt's "Radical Ride"; Travis Tritt's "Ride Em" and "Clotheshorse", endorsed by Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Carson Kressley.

More Lines:

Other lines include the very popular Collegiate ornaments, such as Armchair Quarterback and the Collegiate Car; The DIVA Collection, as well as DIVA Dogs; On the Farm Collection; The Pet Set and the new, very popular, Glitterazzi. There is also a Farm Collection, Major League Baseball, The Wild Side and the Joy to the World collection, which consists of a variety of designs.

Glitterrazzi:

If you're looking for a new and different look, check out the Glitterazzi pieces. The designs are fully glittered and are quite unique.

There are over 40 pieces in the line, with thirty-five different store/retailer exclusives. A particular favorite of mine is Atomic Santa for a store in Oak Ridge, Tenneessee.

The exclusives are typically limited to 120 pieces, with most of the Santas expressing the personality of their "retailer".

It was a little hard for me to believe that Joy to the World Collectibles has only been around since 1998. It seems I've had their pieces for years, seen them every holiday season in the local department stores and have lots of the glossy black boxes stored in the closet.

It was in the late nineties that founder Lisa Kelechava said she had an idea to create a new and different ornament. She has always loved Christmas and says "if you really believe, it will happen". It did happen and today Joy to the World is found in stores around the world.

Ornaments are always a terrific gift to give, especially the charity pieces. The majority of the celebrity charity ornaments are well under $50 and a great way to help a charity, while adding to one's collection. The large number of endorsed ornaments cross all lines of society, hobbies and concerns -- over sixty pieces to choose from!

Lisa will do a limited number of signings, check the Glitterazzi Central for information on locations, as well as updates on the newest pieces. She believes that if you treat people the right way, doors will open, a nice philosophy especially for someone who lives Christmas all year long.
