The casual collector often looks for the ways to showcase or display their favorite pieces. This particular postcard folder from the city we live in is a favorite framed piece.
This was framed by a professional framing shop. As you can see by the side view, the cards were mounted in such a way that the viewer can see that the cards are part of a folder, e.g. not framed completely flat.
Although the long strip of cards could be mounted flat, this is a much more interesting way to present them.
More thoughts:
- Vintage souvenir postcard folders can be quite affordable, so don't worry about damaging an expensive collectible.
- Look for souvenir folders from the city you grew up in or perhaps a favorite vacation spot.
- Because of moving around in our earlier married years, my children were born in different states. I love doing this idea for each of them and the place they were born. The cards will be decades older than they are, but would still be fun to see their city's history.
