Disney Limited Edition Cookie Jar Prices Realized

When buying something for your collection, the most important thing is to buy what you love, but it's always a nice extra when what you love keeps or increases in value.

Although it's too early to tell over the long run, Disney's Limited Edition cookie jars usually fit into that category. With just a few exceptions, the jars showing up on the secondary market have been selling for over their original Disney auction prices.

The most amazing thing is when a jar currently being sold on the Disney Auction web site will sell on eBay for two times the price. It's a case of folks not researching their purchases beforehand.

Disney's Limited Edition jars are initially sold in a dutch auction format through Disney Auctions. The jars are offered in varying numbers of the edition and many times sell for the opening bid set by Disney. There are a few jars that break this mold and each dutch auction will have more bidders than jars. The Mary Poppins Penguin jar and the current Beauty and the Beast have both caught the eye of the collector.
