The Pixie Line of ceramic kitchen accessories produced by Holt-Howard in the fifties is getting harder to find as its popularity and prices soars among collectors.
When Grant-Howard decided to produce a cookie jar in 2004 to go with that old line, they also
produced several other pieces that were not previously made.
John Howard of Grant-Howard, one of the original partners in Holt-Howard, wanted to give new collectors a chance to own a piece of Pixieware, but did not want to confuse collectors by re-doing an old piece. Hence, the Cookie Jar and these other pieces were never a part of the original line.
These designs were created by Curt Blanchard, an artist and designer who has been involved with cookie jars and ceramics for many years. Blanchard worked for Holt-Howard in the sixties and later was involved with Treasure Craft in the nineties. Blanchard is responsible for many of the jars that line our cookie jar shelves and currently has designed the other jars in the current Grant-Howard line.
