After the tassel is firmly stuck in the shaker, start adding beads, buttons, etc. to the wire on top. It's your choice! The more variety the better.
Put the largest or most interesting bead at the top, then make a small loop or twist the wire back through the bead (depending on the style used}.
I covered the twisted wire by wrapping a bit of yarn over it and making a hidden knot.
