Taking Down the Christmas Trees
Christmas is over and it's time to start packing up your valued collectibles. It is also a good time to update any inventory listings and if you don't have one, a great time to start organizing your stuff. There are several inventory programs, but even a simple list will work fine.

Do you have separate insurance on your collectibles? Perhaps now is the time to look into insurance. Check with your homeowners insurance agent to find out about adding your collectibles with a policy that will even cover breakage. The cost on this insurance can be low enough to make it well worth your while and peace of mind.

Since I go a bit overboard on Christmas decorating, I have a system for putting everything away. It helps me find what I need when it's time to start unpacking all the goodies. Perhaps parts of my system might work for you.

The biggest time saver is to group stuff together. e.g. All the living room Christmas collectibles go in well-marked tubs and are kept together in the storage areas.
