What a great book! It's one of those books that's a must-have for glass and Radko collectors and undoubtedly will prove invaluable over the years. I had the book less than two days when it helped me decide whether to bid on an eBay auction.
Author David Olsen has categorized the entire Radko line from the first year 1986 through 2000 (watch for Volume 2 next year). The book will be very helpful when shopping the secondary market, plus it serves to whet the appetite for ornaments from the early years.
It's not only novice collectors who get confused about the different collections in the Radko line. Olsen offers explanations on the limited editions, charity ornaments, store exclusives and event ornaments.
An added highlight are guest chapters by passionate collectors Dr.David Miller on Radko's Italian Flair, John Adkins on Disney Radko and Connie Porcher on the lore of Radko's Russian Santas. These additional chapters are a fun look into the story behind their collections.
Olsen explores the rise and fall of the secondary market values, the major decline several years ago, but he brings hope to collectors with the statement "Today there seems to be an upward trend in these collectibles prices".
