Baseball Collectibles

By Barbara Crews, About.com

One of the biggest reasons we collect "things" are the memories they bring back. The warm feelings we have looking at our baseball collectibles, or the way these inanimate objects take us back to another time, makes the search and time spent worthwhile.

Baseball is more than a sport, it's a way of bringing families back together, remembering the days when games were affordable, remembering when summer practices took up many evenings and when fall meant more than Halloween -- it was playoff time!

Baseball Memories - Collecting Memorabilia

When talking about baseball collectibles, many people think first of baseball cards. Although card collecting is very popular, there are many other ways to collect. For example autographs on cards, balls, caps or balls. Bobbing head dolls from teams and individual players, card sets, team apparel, vintage equipment, Starting Lineups, pins, pennants and baseball art are just a few ways to go. There are even baseball cookie jars!
