Figures - - McFarlane and Starting Lineup

Starting Lineups
Sports action figures by Kenner started out with just a few figures, but quickly evolved into a huge product. Figures of every conceivable sports figure, sometimes in their different uniforms, are another inexpensive way to collect baseball items. The prices for the older pieces can range from a few dollars on up, with many to pick from at online auctions that are usually well under issue price. Stick to the inexpensive pieces until you learn more about them and decide if that's the way you want to go. Starting Lineups are no longer produced, but several other companies have jumped into the game.

McFarlane --Their sports figures first appeared in 2002. Three series were produced that are amazingly realistic and popular among collectors. Owner Todd McFarlane, an avid sports fan and buyer of the Mark McGwire's 70th Homerun ball, has been wanting for years to get into sports figures and once he entered into the market, quickly set a new standard for the sports figures.
