All together in one spot, tips and resources for collectors on eBay.
The Internet is not only eBay.com, but that would be hard to prove to some people. eBay is the main, and sometimes only, destination of many collectors. There aren't many companies that are known world-wide to consumers, but eBay is at the top of the list reaching around the world with their international sites.
It's time to start selling some of your extra collectibles, it's easy right? Just stick a few pictures up on eBay and wait for the money to roll in. Wrong. It just doesn't happen like that, it takes time and effort to get it right.
Selling on eBay.com can be a good way to turn your extra collectibles into cash, but if you're taking the time and trouble to to list them, maximize the results with a little bit of commonsense.

A good picture is worth a 1000 words is a tired cliche, but especially true when selling antiques or collectibles online. Learn to set the stage, take the best pictures and explore a few inexpensive studio set-ups.
Dutch Auctions, Fixed Price and Proxy Bidding
Although a Dutch auction might be one held in the Netherlands, that's not what it means in the world of eBay auctions.
eBay uses proxy bidding on their auctions, do you understand how it works? People often complain about being outbid by only fifty cents or a dollar, regretting that they did not bid a little more to win the auction. Yes, they might have won it with a little more, but not necessarily.
eBay is in located in dozens of countries around the world. Included in this list are some of the more popular country web sites. Look for sellers who ship internationally and find a unique treasure not typically found in your country.
If you're not an eBay auction sniper, you probably really dislike sniping and would like to tar and feather the last guy that took a win away from you. I've been buying on eBay since '96 and it's the only way I bid now.
There will always be someone around trying to separate you from your money. I get as many emails telling me that my eBay account is being changed or my password and credit card needs to be verified, as I get Paypal email scams -- a lot!
These emails are very official looking and you might think they come from eBay. And in fact eBay might send you a letter about your account, but eBay will NEVER ask you to respond with your password, credit card or bank account information in an email.
eBay Fun Stuff
Over the years eBay has held a series of Collectibles Summits. Each of the four summits would host approximately twenty folks in the collectibles industry, I was honored to be invited to attend them all. Below are reports on a few of them, as well as reports on two of the eBay Live events which are no longer held.
