When asked how and when she decided to start selling her work, Laurie answered:
"I started selling my paper mache work four years ago at local and regional shows. Two years later I had a problem with the paper mache I was working with and contacted an artist working with a similar material in Ohio. She asked to see my work and when I did, she called and wanted to know where I had been. She encouraged me to start a blog and that blog led to a marketplace owner contacting me to sell my work, which in turn led to several groups contacting me regarding selling on eBay. The business really started to take on a new life. With the online success, I contacted Scott Smith about Halloween and Vine last year, which was my first major national show. Ghoultide Gathering will be my second major show this year."
Laurie currently sells online at the EHAG Emporium, eBay and through her own site. She is an OOAK artist and although might use the same subject matter, no two works are alike. All her works are hand-sculpted, created without the use of molds and painted differently.
