Shake them up for an instant dose of winter, no matter what the time of the year! Many of the snowdomes made today are actually a glass snow globe and can feature everything from a skyline to a cartoon character. The vintage plastic dome (below) are fun to look for and can usually be found for a few dollars at collectible/antique malls. The glass globes are more pricey, but hold up better over time. The plastic snowdomes tend to lose water and are easily scratched.

Some popular glass snowglobes this year are the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade piece, Saks New York City Skyline and the Bloomindale's musical New York City snowglobe. The globe shown is the Bloomingdale snowglobe from two years ago.
