A Few of my Favorite Things. . . .
December Treasures & Collectibles

This is certainly not a complete list of my favorite collectibles or December things, but just a few that happen to be calling to me this year. Next year or last year could be completely different. For instance, I've not mentioned the Dept. 56 Villages -- I love those or Christmas snowglobes, always a favorite this time of the year. When you collect "Christmas" it's hard to mention everything, every year. Check out the archives and pages linked to on the bottom of this page for past December articles and calendars.

Hot Air Ornaments - Hot Air Balloons have always fascinated me, so how about a small tree full of Balloon ornaments floating in the clouds.

Sabuda Pop-up Books - Pop-up Books are not only for kids! Robert Sabuda's books are an engineering feat that only an adult can appreciate. Plus, with topics like the Disney Alphabet, Twelve Days of Christmas and Cookie Count, they are perfect for collectors.

Contemporary Santa Prints - I love these pictures so much, I leave them up all year long! Artist is Bob Holloway from Kansas City. Holloway has been exhibiting his work since 1952.

Odd Christmas Ornaments - What do you do with those "odd" ornaments that you really don't want to put on your Christmas tree -- but still want to use them? Make a Christmas wreath!

Christmas Cookie Jars - No one does Christmas jars like Fitz & Floyd and this year they outdid themselves.

Santa Claus Figures - Lynn Haney Collection Santas, just about the best "manufactured" Santa made. Usually done in limited editions, these Santas are a bit pricey, but addictive!

Outdoor Trees Inside - Green metal trees are the rage this year, but most people use them outside, not me. The trees are so bright I decided to brighten a very dark hallway.

Antique Christmas Postcards - Vintage Christmas postcards.

Patriotic Ornaments - I started separating my patriotic ornaments last year and they make a great looking tree.

Crafty Wreaths - Yu-Gi-Oh White Dragon Wreath was done for a grandson who loves the trading card game. Just don't ask me to explain the game to you.

Hallmark Series - Hallmark's Nostalgic Houses and Shops Series is still going strong nineteen years after the first house appeared.

Advertising Tins for the Holidays - Christmas advertising tins -- and a cookie pound cake recipe to use the products.

Special Christmas Cards - Receiving Christmas cards -- they're all special, but some just a little more. Check out the surprising card received this year!

Silvery Tinsel Trees - A silver, tinsel garland tree was a new find this year! It's perfect for the black ornaments.

A Kitchen Tree - Glass gingerbread men, cookie ornaments and teddy bears adorn the kitchen tree.

Raggedy Ann for the Holidays - A Christmas tree full of Raggedy Ann ornaments and dolls.
