1. Hobbies & Games

(Note: Since this is article was published in 2000, Warner Bros retail stores have been closed, but this is kept up as reference about these Harry Potter collectibles.)

As we all know, Harry was a normal boy living an absolutely wretched life. That is, until a giant saved him from the aunt, uncle and cousin who loved to both torment and ignore him. Since he never knew his parents were magical, it was all a very strange journey as he was off to the wonderful Hogwarts School to learn the tricks and trades of Magic and Wizardry. Warner Bros has captured this magic in their line of gifts and collectibles.

Here are a few of my favorites..

Hedwig the Owl, is a plush cuddly owl that's approximately 16" tall and sold for under $20. It was available at both the store and Warner Bros. catalog.

There are also at several different puzzles for $8. each which are just a little different than the normal jigsaw puzzle. There are 180 small pieces for an adult to put together and 80 big pieces for a child to put together, then both puzzles are combined into the one puzzle. Fun idea! Puzzle is $8.

And of course the Golden Snitch hiding out in the form of a key chain until Seeker Harry finds it, it was also sold at the stores for $4.50.

More Ornaments
Warner Bros also sold several holiday ornaments that are polyresin -- Hedwig the Owl and Harry on his Nimbus Two Thousand.

Both were ordered directly from the Warner Bros. web site and sold for $8. - $10.

Snow Globe
The Harry Potter Snow globe is a heavy piece, 6" tall with a scene of Harry and his friends brewing up magic. Although I tried to take a picture of the globe, the reflections would not do it justice, so here is the box!

The snowglobe sold for $24. Other items included a Train Station clock, bookends, pictures frames, numerous t-shirts, mugs and hats. Enough to satisfy any Harry Potter fan, no matter what their age or gender.
