Polonaise Glass Ornaments

Note: The ornaments shown on these pages were produced several years ago, but can still be found on the secondary market. These pages will help you decide what to look for in the search for older Potter collectibles.

It has to be a very good thing when children and their parents anxiously await the arrival of a new book. Turn off the TV -- kids are reading! But your kids already have the books, they're anxiously waiting for the next one to appear, the movie isn't out yet -- now what?

Harry Potter Collectibles of course!

One of my favorite companies, Kurt S. Adler (KSA) has the license for this hottest of collectibles. KSA has been around for over fifty years and are well known for their wonderful Christmas collectibles. They are producing Harry Potter Christmas ornaments in resin, plastic, tin and glass. The line includes numerous styles, some of which are shown on the next few pages.

Glass collectors are very familiar with the name Polonaise, the KSA line of glass ornaments. The company is well known for their licensed ornaments and the Harry Potter ornaments should be some of their most popular. The Polonaise Harry Potter Collection

Imagine the look on the face of a child (or even adult) getting this magical looking, hand painted wooden box. They slowly open the box, not quite sure what is inside and find to their wonder a beautiful set of glass ornaments depicting the characters of Harry Potter.

I will admit it, I am a sucker for neat boxes. This wooden box set is really fabulous looking and will become a lifelong treasure for any child or the child in you.

There are three figural ornaments in it, described below, and a golden Harry Potter logo ornament that is only available by purchasing this set. The three figural ornaments are available to purchase separately and are shown in greater detail here.

First figure in the box is Hermoine with Book of Scales, dedicated to getting the highest marks at Hogwarts. Next is Harry and Hedwig, his trusty owl, who shadows him everywhere and delivers his mail. The third figure in the set is Ron with a pet rat Scabbers.

Larger views of all these pictures may be seen by clicking on the individual images.

A fourth figural ornament (not shown) will also be available, it is an 8" Harry on Niimbus 2000. To recap, there are actually five Polonaise glass ornaments, four figures and one golden logo. The four figurals may all be purchased separately. The only way to get the Logo ornament is in the box set of three figures.

Suggested retail prices were:
Box Set $190.
Individual figural pieces were priced at $50. each.
