Meanwhile friend, and mentor, Gary Wells was in the background helping Stanley with his business acumen. He showed her how to do budgets, ordering, the ins and outs of the paperwork and legalities needed to run a business. They eventually formed a partnership in 2001 and have worked since worked together. They both claim they make a good team, working together on almost everything, not afraid to say what they think about each others design or ideas -- good or bad! When asked about designing of the ornaments, neither claim to be an artist. They take their inspirations and ideas to the glass factories where a mold is then made by the artists on staff. And once a mold is designed, it takes a lot of tweaking to get it just right -- the ornament will make many trips back and forth across the ocean, until it achieves just the look Wells and Stanley want. All the ornament designs are thoroughly researched and, when applicable, historically correct. Although the Hawaiian spirit is the main theme of the ornament company, other categories in their lines include Epicurean Delights, In Full Bloom, along with Sparkling Waters (fish and sea life from the Hawaiian waters). Celebrating Baby and Just Puppies are two more categories in their unusual collection. Destinations is a selection of fabulously painted balls with scenery from the Islands. But the most interesting pieces were from The Collector Series. Limited edition Aloha shirts and painted balls bring the flavor of the islands to your home, bringing back memories of past trips or inspiring you take your first trip. Included in The Collector Series are three different Posh Pillows with adorned with painted tropical florals and two different Santas taking his after Christmas break. |
