Lilliput Lane Cottages

by Annette and Tom Power

Everyone has heard of or seen these charming little cottages, now here is a price guide specifically for them. While this 147 page book is primarily a price guide, it is much more than that. It is a book full of information and resources for collectors of Lilliput Cottages.

The Process
For instance, I found out that these intricate works of art have been made of Amorphite since 1984 -- a product that allows much greater detail than other materials that might be used. The book also explains in excellent detail how the cottages were developed, the processes in making them and tells all about the Honeysuckle Cottage Museum.

Backstamps
A page of different backstamps to help date pieces.

Photographs
Like the other books from The Charlton Press, the photographs are in black and white with just a few exceptions. It is these few exceptions in this book in particular that make you want them all in color! But the pictures are very clear and along with the technical information by each one, it makes an exceptional price guide for the Lilliput Lane Collector.

The book is laid out in alphabetical order making it very easy to find a particular piece and if you are not sure of the name of a piece, but know the series, a handy guide in the back has all the series listed. The Charlton Press puts out excellent catalogue/price guides. If they have one for something you collect, it would be a good investment to add it to your collecting library.
