A renowned folk artist and teacher, Pipka is celebrated for her old world Santas and inspirational angel and Madonna designs. Born in Germany, Pipka came to America with her family at age five. Her "love affair" with Christmas began as ayoung girl in her family's big Victorian house in North Dakota, where the holiday was filled with the traditions and customs of her parents' heritage. She remembers drawing since she was five years old, and later, as an adult, Pipka entered the world of folk art through the encouragement of her mother who presented her with a gift of paints, brushes and books on Bavarian folk art painting. From that time on, Pipka's talent and love for painting blossomed to become the impetus for the exquistie figurines she designs today. Her work includes intricately detailed Santa figurines; each graced with elements of the customs and heritage fitting for that particular deisgn. Pipka thoroughly researches each design, combining historical and cultural elements that make each figurine a beautiful culmination of the theme it portrays. Pipka's loving attention to detail and her delightful creativity aare what makes these figurines so enchanting and unique.
