Christmas in July
EuroVue

Biedermann feels his strict discipline from his music background has helped immensely in the creation of EuroVue, He carries this discipline in whatever he does. "In music you must plan the creative side, thinking ahead to the future. In music the "sound" is gone in one second, the next second a new sound is heard -- hence always looking and thinking ahead. With music playing together means working with people, teamwork, etc. which is of course an important concept in any creative business. Also, when you are a performer travelling, irregular hours and patience are all part of the norm. All these come into play when creating new pieces of art."

Because The Spirit of Christmas is Giving, it was quite natural for hearts to be the main focus of many of EuroVue's designs. They have produced donation ornaments for several different charities as they feel the whole idea of buying an ornament it not only for yourself, but to give of yourself also.

The Sultan

It's always hard for a designer or artist to "pick a favorite", but after some prompting, Beidermann suggested The Sultan and Down From Above. Although the Sultan is not a Christmas ornament, he loves the colors and the history that this piece portrays --bringing forth the lessons of the Tartars to mind. It was a challenging piece to do with lots of details and textures combined with the vivid colors.

Down from Above, a Santa on the moon ornament is another favorite "I like blue and I wanted something to give the image of the sky and stars sparkling. Placing santa was the first step and then why not do something surprising in those bright colors". 6.25" $49.95

EuroVue has a delightful selection of painted glass balls, some have reflectors and others have interesting sculpted parts on them. Many of the prices for the balls are under $10, with only a few exceeding that price. EuroVue is also known for their large variety of heart ornaments, different colors, slightly different shapes and many times a design is painted on them.

The folks from EuroVue -- Hugh McCartney and Josef Biedermann were very excited at Rosemont to show off their newest pieces, their first license -- Curious George. Their trademark heart is done as a postcard with George holding a heart on the reverse side. It can be personalized to your favorite Curious George collector. The second ornament is Curious George as Santa, delivering a sack of presents down the chimney. These two pieces are now in the process of getting approved and should be available later this year for around $25. each.

Note: EuroVue no longer has a web presence and it is assumed the company are no longer in business. This article is kept up for reference and for those who might be trying to get more information on the EuroVue pieces they own.
