Christmas in July
EuroVue

Jozef Biedermann, like many other artists and designers, has a twinkle in his eye when talking about his ornaments. He believes in the Christmas Spirit of Giving and it shows in his EuroVue ornaments. A native of Poznam, Poland and transplanted to Tucson, Arizona he brings this wonderful mix to his art and designs. Where else can you get a view of the American Southwest from a European perspective?

As a professional Violinist, Biedermann was constantly traveling abroad performing both as a soloist and in numerous concerts. After getting a taste of the outside world, he finally decided to leave Poland in 1973, settling first in Sweden for a short time. He eventually moved to the United States and has settled in Tuscson -- probably as far from Poznam as you can get, both in terms of culture and geography.

Ferrum Tree - 29"

After democracy opened up Poland, many things became available that were not possible before. And with his connections in Poland, he decided to venture into the glass ornament business in the early nineties. Finding the glass medium exciting, he decided to venture into the glass ornament market with different designs than were currently available. Biedermann has always loved glass and personally collects art glass, loving the color, shapes and designs.

Jozef Biederman started working with ornaments in 1993, starting as a cottage industry, working in his kitchen and garage on designs, orders, etc. He designs all the ornaments, develops the molds and sculptures, all the time working closely with his manufacturers. As a small business for several years, he did it all from the designing, producing to the selling and shipping of his products.

Down From Above

In 1998 the company reached a point where they could move into their own building. Although he feels the line is still small, Biedermann feels this gives them room to grow with more good inspirations. The past few years the line has evolved as technology has also evolved and improved. The blowers are being challenged more and because of this, have become more skilled with each new challenge. The better paints and glitters have also helped bring new and improved pieces to the glass ornament world. There are currently 550 pieces in production -- but there have been as many as 1400 EuroVue designs, with the majority now retired.

EuroVue has also added several non-glass items to their line -- Ferrum metal pieces. These come in a variety of colors and are used for the Ornament Tree shown above, as well as numerous styles and sizes of ornament holders. Candle holders and metal sculptures are also available and shown on their website.

One of their most popular ornaments -- the doggie bones!
A very popular gift for dog owners.
Note: EuroVue no longer has a web presence and it is assumed the company are no longer in business. This article is kept up for reference and for those who might be trying to get more information on the EuroVue pieces they own.
