If you want to find out just what is going on in the world of Beanie Babies around the world, the best thing you can do is subscribe to the Ms. Janie's newsletter.

I subscribe to several collectible email newsletters and one of the top three is the publication from Ms. Janie. Although it is heavily weighted towards Ty and Beanie Babies, it's much more than that.

The daily newsletter (not sure how she manages that) contains "on this date" facts, news stories about numerous collectibles, press releases, toy recalls, and more. Ms. Janie has been publishing the newsletter since 1999 and has a large subscriber base. And Beanie babies are certainly not dead -- she gets new subscribers every week.

The newsletter and website is all a labor of love for the Virginia mother of two. She loves Beanie Babies and when pressed for information on her other collecting habits, she said that Angels have a special spot in her heart. Ms. Janie also admitted that at one time she collected gemstones. She enjoyed designing jewelry to suit the stones and many times would sell the completed designs to the jewelers that created them for her. And although she isn't as involved with gemstones any longer, she still keeps an eye out for unusual stones.

Recently a collector was dismayed to find yet another favorite retailer that will no longer be selling Ty Beanie Babies and posed the question to Ms. Janie -- "Is this the beginning of the end of Beanie Collectors?"
