What's Wrong with Raggedy Ann?
Updated!

What's wrong is that she is NOT in the National Toy Hall of Fame -- hard to believe, but it's true. Raggedy Ann's been around for over 85 years, so if anyone is worthy -- she is.

The National Toy Hall of Fame is located at the A.C. Gilbert's Discovery Village in Salem, Oregon. It was started in 1998 with the purpose of bringing recognition to the toys and their makers that have inspired children throughout the years.

Toys can be nominated by anyone throughout the year, but the selection committee makes the final decision. The Committee votes for the toys during a six week period of January 15 - February 28. "Winners" are announced in March. The Raggedy Ann and Andy Museum in Arcola, Illinois is currently circulating a petition to bring Raggedy Ann to the attention of the committee, in hopes of garnering enough votes for induction into the National Toy Hall of Fame.

If you want to help Raggedy Ann get into the Toy Hall of Fame, the museum currently has a petition on their site. Take a few minutes and help the little rag doll that has been a constant and cuddly companion to children for almost a century.
