Dallas International Gift Market

I must admit this was my first visit to the Dallas International Gift Market. I have no idea why I haven't made the trip before, it's probably because I am still recovering from Christmas and don't really want to see anything even related to the holidays for at least a few months. It's hard to get excited about Christmas ornaments or cookie jars when there are two or three trees to dismantle and boxes of ornaments to store away.
But this year was different, I made the trip south. Wearing comfortable shoes, gripping a fresh notepad and a handful of disks for my digital camera I was ready for whatever! The place is overwhelming -- and it starts a few blocks away with traffic cops, lines of shuttle buses and cabs all shuffling people back and forth. Inside the place I felt like a kid in a toy store "I want this, I want that", plus I didn't know where to turn to first! But after a few deep breathes, I started in with my first showroom and never looked back.
