This is the first cookie jar I saw as a child. As long as I can remember, it sat on the cabinet in the kitchen of my childhood home. It never had any cookies in it then, and even now, it only holds memories. |

Chocolate Chunk Cookies

1 cup (2 sticks) softened margarine 2/3 cup peanut butter 1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed 2 eggs |
2 tsp. vanilla 2-2/3 cup self-rising flour 12-oz. package milk chocolate chunks 1 cup broken pecan pieces |

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed, beat margarine and peanut butter until well blended. Add sugars; beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until smooth. Stir in flour. Add chocolate chunks and pecans, and mix well. Drop by heaping teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart, and bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove cookies to wire rack to cool. | |
