Before You Ask
  • Check out the Cookie Jar Index to see if jar is already listed.
  • Take a picture of your jar or jars. Numerous pictures of the bottom, back, etc. are helpful. The graphic files should be no larger than 500 x 500 pixels each. Larger files take too way too long to send via email. If images are too large or are, in my opinion, of poor quality, I have the right to refuse to use them. I will use most pictures in both the What is it section and in the Price Guide Index area.
  • Email the graphics file along with the following information to me at collectibles.guide@about.com . I need your full name, but will only use first name and last initial on the question page.
  • Your Full Name:
    Question or History:
    Approximate Size of Jar:
    Markings on Jar, if any:

  • Read the User Agreement that is required by About.com. This user agreement basically gives me permission to post your picture, which is your property. If you agree with this, then finish by emailing me your submission. By submitting your work, this means you agree to the user agreement.

  • I will be adding questions/inquiries about once a week. It could take several weeks for your question to appear. I will email you to let you know when it is online.

These Guesstimates are meant as a GENERAL GUIDE, not as a bible of prices. The values shown will give you an idea of what a cookie jar might be sold for at cookie jar shows or shops. Although online auctions do play a large part in the lives of many collectors, and bargains can be found there, these price suggestions do not always reflect online auctions. There are too many factors to be considered with the price realized at an online auction. Some of these include: how good the photo was, availability of buyers, other jars listed, the description wording, the rating of the seller, time of the auction --both day and hour ending, and of course the category jar was listed in.

Please note: I am not an appraiser, just someone who has been involved in the world of cookie jars for many years.
