 California Original Santa Claus
California Originals started out as Heirlooms of Tomorrow, manufacturing porcelain figurines. Several years later the company moved from Manhattan Beach to Torrence, California and started producing ceramic pieces. Some of their customers included Sears, Penneys and Montgomery Wards. After changing hands in 1979, the company ceased operations in the early 1980s. Many of the licensed jars are very popular today, with a few commanding high prices. California Original cookie jars have a certain look (besides the common brown ones)-- once you become familiar with the finish used you can spot California Original even if it is not marked.
