Card Game
In the game, each player acts as a wizard from the HogwartsTM School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and, through a series of turns, attempts to make his or her opponent run out of cards. Six different types of cards will be introduced in the base set: Characters, Spells, Creatures, Items, Adventures and Lessons. The first player to make his or her opponent's cards "disappear" wins. |

The game will be available in toy and hobby stores in the United States and throughout the world, including translations into four languages, English, French, German, and Italian and to be distributed in Europe, South America, Asia and Australia. Additionally, the first expansion for the Harry Potter TCG, QuidditchTM Cup, will be available in the fourth quarter of 2001. For beginners, the Harry Potter TCG will be packaged in Starter Sets, which include two 40-card decks, each with an additional Character card, a total of 18 holographic cards, damage counters, a rulebook and a playmat (MSRP $9.99); and 11-card booster packs that introduce new, more advanced strategies to decks and adds new cards to the Harry Potter TCG (MSRP $3.29).
