From Bill Kasting, Auctioneer: Following are sample results of jars sold at auction. Turnout at the sale was a bit light, with only 52 bidders present. I believe this was due to the fact that this was the third consecutive weekend of cookie jar auctions in the state. Also, a contributing factor may have been the fact that this collection was heavily weighted to newer, foreign made jars. On the whole, vintage jars did very well, with the exception of Twin Winton. Prices for newer character and advertising jars were very good with the exception of the Coke Bears. Newer Holiday jars were mixed with prices ranging from $5-35. Lower end McCoy and American Bisque were about as expected. Most Basket Handled Japanese jars sold in the $20 range. Page One - Page Two - Page Three
